Another two from the work I’ve been making exploring the notion of the ‘other’. I went to a talk by Esther Teichmann and Carol Mavor and Daniel Blau Gallery in Hoxton on Friday. Her new video work, ‘In Search of Lighting’ is beautifully shot and incredibly emotive (best watched in the dark) and the narration he gave along side her work was fascinating in relation to the questioning of the other in photography and the relationship between the viewer and subject.
Two more scans of prints i’ve done for my major project. Playing around with the exposure of the paper as well as the negative. Also playing with whether i want to prints to have a warm or cold feel and how that affects atmosphere of the series…
another shot from my new project…still getting used to using 5x4 and her eyes are slightly soft. i really like the androgyny of the pose though, especially in relation to exploring ‘otherness’
